The Joomla Project – signs of maturity and leadership

A couple of days ago, Joomla announced “an important shift in the organisation and governance of the Joomla Project”. This post is an easy-to-read summary of what the original post talks about.

The change is focused on…

“…making it easier to fulfill our mission, achieve our vision and remain true to our values”

The change will help ensure…

“…that we remain focused on our mission to provide a flexible platform for digital publishing and collaboration”

Lets see what this really means:

Joomla! 1.5.12 Release Candidate now available

The Joomla Project needs your help in testing the next release – Joomla! 1.5.12 RC.

This release has 22 bug fixes and two updates are significant enough to warrant community testing: upgrade to TinyMCE and changes to the framework PHPMailer class (Joomla is now able to use services such as Gmail to handle e-mail from the application).

Please note – This is a Release Candidate and should not be used in a live production environment.

Read more about the fixes and updates here. When you have finished testing, please give The Joomla Project your feedback in the comments on this post.
