New versions of Morph & Configurator

Yesterday we released the latest versions of Morph & Configurator for Joomla to our beta testers. Most of the changes are once again in Configurator, as we needed to fix loads of nagging issues, as well as add a bit of polish here and there.

Unless anything critical is discovered, this will be the last private release before opening the beta to all club members.

Beta testers: We’re working our butts off to give you guys a product that will be an invaluable tool for your day to day business and could really do with a last major round of input to know whether we’re on the right track. :) Please, test the new versions and let us know if there are any issues. We are hesitant to open up the beta to all testers before any major issues have been resolved, which is impossible to do without any input from you guys. Thank you.

What has changed in this release?

Configurator v0.06

• Color picker now has a close button & can be closed by pressing the escape key on your keyboard. Also fixed the stacking problem and input is only updated once you click “ok”.
• New splash help screen on first load, explaining the various aspects of Configurator. Still needs some polish and the content is rough, but the base is there.
• Lots of different keyboard shortcuts!!!! Click on the top shelf “keyboard shortcuts” link for details.
• All dialogs have been updated to have a uniform style.
• Show password option on the login form is working now. We’ve also made this a new jQuery plugin targeting usability for password masking on forms.
• Inline documentation has been updated. Still lots more to do, but its getting there.
• Deleting and applying assets is now working.
• New preferences dialog, allowing you to re-enable tips, tab descriptions, update notifications, etc.
• Full screen mode now has clear actions in the top bar.
• Top component toolbar links have been simplified to dashboard and save.
• Version checker has been updated into a single json call.
• Lots of general layout tweaks and probably a good couple of other things i have forgotten ;)

Morph v0.08 & Light Base 06

Pretty much all the changes in this version are related to the various menu options that are available.

There are still lots more tweaks needed, but the menus are getting more and more refined with each new release. Check out the MenuFX quick start guide for more info on how to use the different menus.

The next release will focus on improving the main install process, fixing any last nagging issues and the much needed cross browser fixes & validation.
