Full list of features for Morph

Since we first started hinting about Morph, the most commonly asked question is “Where can I find a full list of Morph’s features?”.

We held off on posting anything, mainly because so much stuff was changing on a daily basis and not all the features had been decided yet.

We’re now at a point where we are getting close to doing a code-freeze. In short, this means we will no longer be developing new features (before the stable release) and will shift focus to fixing all bugs, optimizing performance and cross browser fixes.

A comprehensive dashboard as well as various controls, like steering wheel, pedals, gears etc, make up the different methods of control you need for your car. As a user of Morph, you now have similar ways to control your Joomla site. (more…)

Themelets – the visual layer

To understand the role themelets play in the Morph toolset, take a brief look at the image below. Notice it is always the same “engine” so to speak, with multiple themelets.

Each themelet is a “child” of the master/parent framework, hence they are also known as child themes (becoming popular in wordpress) (more…)

Performance and seo optimized framework

Many frameworks and templates available for creating websites are extremely useful and built with amazing features and options. However, there is one problem…

Following the discussions around frameworks there are a few major things we feel stand out in the discussions. Besides flexibility, one topic in the heart of it all is performance and seo optimization.

In far to many cases web development frameworks load all of the code (html, javascript, php or css) -> for all the available features & enhancements -> on all of the pages. Even if the feature is not being used. A bit of madness right there! (more…)
