only the blog for now but there is much more coming soon...

If you’re a DOOSy don’t show your friends!

OK, we all love JoomlaJunkie templates because they’re cool and inexpensive and easy-to-use. Which means we’re probably going to “DOOS” – Do Our Own Sites. That’s fine and many small businesses can’t afford to do otherwise but a word of caution – don’t show your friends.

Why not? Because their opinion means nothing. Most times, friends and family do not match part of your target audience. How they react to it is meaningless. Show your customers; in fact if you can persuade one or two to navigate around your site while you watch (no prompting), you can learn a lot useful information about what does and doesn’t work.

If, by some chance, your friends and family are part of your target audience still don’t ask for their opinions. Why? Because they will either be too nice (don’t want to hurt your feelings) or feel they need to be too honest (jealous). Either way it’s not useful info.

OK. So that’s the do’s and don’ts of DOOS! Have fun.
