Now onto the good stuff. This month, we will be releasing TWO premium Joomla templates!
You may already know that there is a dark version of Rational Magic in the works. In addition to Dark Rational, we are also happy to announce the release of MOCHA – a clean crisp and professional Joomla 1.5 template that allows you to put the spotlight back on your content.
The making of Mocha
A few weeks ago, we released the SuperSlider module for Joomla 1.5. When setting up the demo site for the SuperSlider module, I needed a nice clean template to use for the demo…
Inspiration, needs and curiosity
I really loved the feature set and vibrance of both Zappa and Snappa – intelli-mods, configurable sidebars, mix and match modules, suckerfish dropdown menus – these two templates had them all! However, I felt like i needed all of these features but something a little different in the design department.

I needed a clean, crisp design that would be as easy and flexible to work with as Zappa and Snappa. On a personal level, I also wanted to see how flexible and easy to transform JoomlaJunkie templates really were and if it would be possible make a clean business-like template using Zappa, whilst still maintaining its rich feature set. So, I started working on my own “mod” of Zappa.
Result: simple, clean and tableless design

As a result of this “modding” exercise, the Mocha template was born. Mocha has the same feature set, stability and flexibility as both Zappa and Snappa, but wrapped around a simple, clean and elegant design. We then proceeded to add to the already impressive feature set – some enhancements that we felt worthy of such a template.
Mocha is a full tableless design – even Joomla’s core tables have been stripped out. A lot of emphasis has been put into to simplicity, both from the templates design perspective as well as from an administration point of view.
