How to setup and work with the TopMenu block in Morph
In this screencast you will learn how to work with Morph’s topmenu block (and the Joomla module positions it contains).
For more info about the Morph toolset and if it’s right for your Joomla website development, click here to learn more.
Watch the video below and you will see how to create child menu items, activate the different menu systems in Morph and how to set up the search module. As a bonus, this video will also help you get setup with the Ultra Candy themelet (download here).
Are you running the latest version of Morph, Configurator and themelets? If not, download it all here!
Tell us, by writing a comment below, what you’d like to know more about and we’ll add it on the roadmap for more videos and documentation about Morph. :)
nice post and tutorial! Anyway I still didnt get why towards the end the “Community” was floated right?
I tried listening to it couple of time but with this MacBook volume put on highest and youtube’s vol highest, I still couldnt hear the audio that crisp.
Thanks for the reply, I think the sound on this one is a little bad due to some technical issues ;) are any of the other videos on our youtube page better or worse?
At the end, what I was showing was a feature called…. “call to action” and it is a way to make your last menu item float to the right of your menu and gives it a class with css. A call to action button brings attention to it so users will see it and more likely click on it. You can make it stand out by giving it a different styling etc. This would be ideal for a signup button, or anything you want to make sure users will see and click on.
Here is an example of it implemented with some color etc so you can see an example of how it can be used. You could also style it differently, so it looks more like a button or whatever you like.
yeah i get it now. Just that due to the audio issue, I couldn’t follow through the “call to action” steps. I am not implementing anything like that for myself but i think its better if we or I could understand the process, which is the purpose of the tutorial in the first place.
I get everything in the video on my first watch but the “call to action” really confuses me. Maybe not need a retake of 2nd screenies but maybe some walkthrough (screenshots or not, I didnt mind either way) in forum might help especially members.
thanks again Andy! Keep the vids coming, I never miss it so far like some of favorite TV series u know haha.
Thanks for the great feedback as usual! :) What I will do is create a separate video explaining how the call2action works and how to implement it etc. There is already a placeholder for it on the new docs site which we are working on now.
Perhaps the end of this video can be edited out once we have the new one. I think my head was getting tired at the end of making this video. It took a lot of attempts to get it right.
So are the videos helping you better understand how Morph works? They take some time to make but as I do it more, it will get faster. Not something I am used to doing, but I like learning new things and really want to get the word of Morph out there.
