Exploring alternatives to Joomla’s default sidebar module position names

One thing that has bugged us for absolute ages is the default names of module positions used in Joomla templates. Specifically, the “left” and “right” positions, which are generally used in a templates sidebars.

The issue we have with the current naming convention is that it assumes that the sidebar’s position will always be on the left or right of the primary content.

Dark Rational marks the end of an era

…and the beginning of year TwoThousandAndShine!

Our latest Joomla! template, Dark Rational, is the last one of it’s kind here at JoomlaJunkie HQ. All upcoming templates will be developed on our brand new template framework.

If you attended the CMS Expo that took place in Denver, Colorado (where the cat came out of the bag) you will know what we are talking about… for the rest of you, you will unfortunately have to sit tight for a tiny bit longer before we officially break the news ;0) Be sure to keep an eye on our blog for more juicy updates!

This year, 2009, is being called TwoThousandAndShine all around the world. That’s exactly what we’re aiming for – to shine, all the way around the CMS world! Starting off with our brand new shiny Joomla! template – Dark Rational.

Mocha – Crisp, clear and in control | Joomla 1.5 template release

Right now, there is a lot to be excited about if you are a JoomlaJunkies club member! Joomla template update: Rational Magic and new menu system

I am pleased to say that the latest version of Rational Magic (Joomla 1.5 template) is now available in the club. If you purchased an individual license of the template, you will soon receive an email with an update.

We have been hard at work on Rational Magic over the last month – doing some general refinements and adding some new features. The most exiting of which is our brand new menu system with the all new SuperDrop menu featuring a combined dropline and superfish menu!

Sneak peek preview of Dark Rational – our next Joomla template

As always we get contacted from people eager to know “Whats next on the menu from JoomlaJunkie?” Well, you would all be very happy to hear me say “a heck of allot!” We have a number of projects running in tandem and they will start being revealed soon…so sit tight my friends. Our most popular Joomla template to date is arguably Rational Magic and Dark Rational brings the same, no wait, more… features and enhancements making it our most flexible and sexy offering to date. Be warned though…. it’s not called Dark Rational for nothing – it’s a dark and incredibly shiny design to the end. Lovers of dark design will be in awe at first site (and who knows, maybe we can convert some of those non believers).
