How to upgrade your Morph powered site
We have tried to make the upgrade process as quick and easy as possible to ensure that you are able to keep your Morph powered site updated with all the latest features and refinements.
How to get notified of new versions
There are a number of ways to ensure that you are always notified of new updates to Morph, specifically:

- Keep an eye on the update notifications in the top shelf of Configurator

Please read before you upgrade your site: How to backup and restore your Joomla site using Akeeba Backup
- Download the updated version/s from the Downloads
- Create a backup of your site (optional, but recommended)
- Re-install the Configurator component
- Follow the Configurator installer setup step **
- Clear your web browsers cache and cookies
During the installation you will be presented with two options: "start from scratch" or "use existing settings". Choosing "start from scratch" will clear your Configurator settings table and reload the default settings before continuing. Choosing the "keep existing settings" option will leave your previous settings intact.
A backup with automatically be created of your Morph template and themelet when upgrading and saved to your morph_assets/backups folder. These backups can be managed from your Assets > Backups tab in Configurator.
Steps to take when upgrading your Morph powered site
Below is a list of step by step instructions to run you through the upgrade process. Make sure you have backed up any of your customizations before proceeding with the upgrade process.
Step 1
Login to your sites Joomla administration, then select Extensions>Install/Uninstall from your top menu.

Step 2
On the installer page, select the Configurator component install file, then click on the Upload File & Install button.

Step 3
Next you will be presented with Configurator's installer, asking you whether you would like to only upgrade Configurator, or the template and themelet as well.

Step 4
You can also choose whether to reset your Configurator settings and start from scratch or keep your existing settings.

Step 5
Now, if you previously chose to do a full upgrade, you will be presented with the template install screen.

Step 6
Select the updated Morph template install file and click Upload & Continue.

Step 7
You will now get a confirmation that the template was successfully upgraded, as well as a message to say that your previous version was backed up.

Step 8
Now move on to the themelet install screen.

Step 9
Follow the same steps as you did with the template, but this time with the updated version of the themelet. You will then be presented with a similar confirmation message, as with the previous step. You can optionally choose to skip this step if you do not wish to upgrade your themelet.

Step 10
Once you have upgraded your themelet and template, you will be presented with the confirmation page, which will give you a summary of what was completed. Once reviewed, click on the Launch Configurator button complete the upgrade process.

Upgrading your Morph template or themelet from within Configurator
Upgrade your Morph template
From within Configurator, go to the Tools > Universal Install tab, then select the "Upgrade Morph Template" option, select your new template install file and click "Upload & Install". You will receive a confirmation message once the template is successfully upgraded.

Upgrade your themelet
Follow the same steps as with the previous step (Upgrading your Morph template), only this time select the "Install or upgrade themelet" option. Like with the previous step, you will receive a confirmation message once the themelet has been successfully upgraded.
