Morph gives you a number of different menus to choose from as well as the ability to customize how they work. This feature shouts "power in simplicity" as it offers you the simplest of ways to manage the various menu options available in Morph.

There are a number of menu options to choose from, all built into the engine itself and waiting to be activated. Nothing needs to be configured to get the menus to work as they are so tightly integrated with Joomla's core menu system.

In Joomla, menus are handled using the core menu module and it is in this module the different menu types are activated. You can quickly activate menus such as top superfish, superdrop, subtext, sidebar menu flyout and other menu enhancements. All you have to do from the Joomla admin is simply opening the module and add a preset suffix to the parameter field.

Your menu suffix options

Which suffix to add depends on the menu type you want for the particular menu. If you want a top superfish (drop down) menu, then you add a suffix of "topfish" and Morph will do the rest.

There are a number of menu options available in Morph, these include top horizontal and sidebar vertical navigations. This is a quick overview on how to take advantage of the various menu options we have built into Morph.

Top - Horizontal

The horizontal navigation refers to the top navigation, using the core Joomla! menu module, assigned to the "user3" module position. Here are the different menu types you can use in the topnav block.

• Default

  This is the default state of the top navigation and will be styled as a traditional horizontal menu bar with no sub items. The default state requires no module suffixes.

• Topfish

  Adding a module suffix of "topfish" will activate the top horizontal Superfish navigation. Once you have added the menu's module suffix, you can proceed to add child menu items to your navigation (up to 4 levels deep). The sub levels slide out below the parent item, with all sub items sliding out to the side.

• Topdrop

  Adding a module suffix of "topdrop" will activate the top dropline menu with a twist. Any child items on the second level will be displayed in a sub bar, but any further subitems will drop down like a traditional superfish menu. This allows you to get the best of both worlds.

• Subtext

  Adding a module suffix of "subtext" will allow you to use subtext in your menu items. This can be used on any of the different menu levels and allows you to add an additional line of text underneath the main menu item to provide more meaning.

Split - Vertical & Horizontal

• Split

  The split menu is a very handy menu indeed and it allows you to use both top and side navigation in combination with one another. For websites with navigation that has many levels of menu items, this menu can help make the navigation easier. As the name suggests, the menu items are split between both top and sidebar navigations.

Sidebar - Vertical

• Default

  This is the default state of the sidebar navigation and will be styled as a traditional vertical menu. The default state requires no module suffixes. Any sub menu items will be displayed as a nested list with this option.

• Sidefish

  Adding a module suffix of "sidefish" will activate the sidebar vertical Superfish navigation. Once you have added the menu's module suffix, you can proceed to add child menu items to your navigation. Depending on which sidebar the menu is published will determine how the sub items will fly out.

• Subtext

  As with the horizontal navigation, adding a module suffix of "subtext" will allow you to use subtext in your vertical menu items. Again, this can be used on any of the different menu levels. Once you have added the module suffix to your menu module, you will need to update you menu items to use subtext.
