We have done our best to make getting setup with Morph & Configurator as painless as possible. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve this process, please be sure to let us know on the Morph beta board.

Download all the files you will need during the installation

Install a fresh copy of Joomla 1.5

When installing Joomla, we recommend that you select the sample data option. If you do not know how to install Joomla, please see the official installation manual for detailed instructions.

Install Configurator

Log in to your Joomla! administration and navigate to the extensions installer (extensions > install/uninstall).

In the Upload Package File box, click on the “Browse” button and select the component install file. The file you need to install will be called component_configurator_v0.13.zip. The v0.13 part of the file name refers to the version that you are installing and will be updated with each new release.

Click "upload file and install", which will then install Configurator.

Once the component is successfully installed, you will be presented with our new installer, which is broken up into a three step process.

Installer step 1 - Install the template.

In this step you’ll install the Morph template. This can be done from the initial install process or from within Configurator (under the “Tools > Universal Installer” tab).

If you have have an existing copy installed, you will notice there is a tick box below the "browse for file" upload box, which lets you automatically create a backup.

Installer step 2 - Install the themelet.

Now its time for you to install your chosen themelet.

Installer step 3 - Select which Quick Setup options to install.

Inline with Morph’s tagline “Go live faster”, we’ve come up with a new Quick Setup option when installing Morph. The idea is to automate the setup steps that are required to getting your template setup. These are the steps you would usually follow when going through the setup guide, as well as a few other goodies.

Sample content & example typography

Selecting this option will add a new section with a few sample categories & content items. The purpose of this option is to give you some sample data to get started with and provide you with additional help resources.

ModFX module examples

Selecting this option will create 80+ new example modules for you to use a reference to get started with Morph's Mix & Match ModuleFX styles. These are added to a special hidden module position and only outputs the example modules in four sample content items.

Basic module configuration

Selecting this option will take care of the general setup options that are usually required after installing Morph. This includes adjusting various core modules settings (including your top menu). More info will be published about this soon.
